FAQ for DVD Microphone and Player OwnersNew to karaoke? Please take a moment to read. Most of the problems we are responding to are related to the type of discs new users are trying to play in their DVD or karaoke players. Please note the following points when purchasing new music
Attn: MM201 Microphone Owners. If you are having problems with the microphone functioning properly, please switch the RCA cable leads. i.e. Put the DVD end into the TV. Put the TV end into the DVD. The factory mislabeled some microphone cable leads. We apologize for this inconvenience! Our DVD Mic will not work with our TV/DVD Combo system. Most TV/DVD combination units do not have inputs to accommodate the DVD microphone leads. Your only solution is to use your TV/DVD combination unit as either the TV or the DVD player. Whichever you decide, you will have to get another TV or DVD player to make a complete unit. You have a DVD/VCR combo player and cannot get the DVD microphone to work. Easiest option is to disconnect the cables for the VCR and use the unit as a DVD player only. However, that is not necessary. All that is necessary is that you connect the DVD microphone into the DVD line and make sure you select that particular Line In option on your TV remote control or menu. Below is a typical connection schematic for a DVD/VCR Combo player.
The diagram below shows the DVD Microphone connected on the DVD line. Note: this particular diagram has the DVD player connected on Line #2 for your TV. Your DVD player may be on Line #1 in your home. Regardless, as long as you connect on the DVD line, it will work.
Cannot get microphone to work. Always remember to follow the connection instructions provided with the product. The RCA cables are tagged and color coded for audio and video. NOTE: Some microphones may not have a yellow RCA video cable. In this case you would use your existing RCA cable connecting your DVD player to your TV. TV and/or DVD player has more than one set of RCA audio/video input/output ports. If your units have more than one set of ports, they are likely labeled Line 1, Line 2, etc. We recommend users that are not fluent with these connection cables to use the same ports your DVD and TV use at present. Likely, that will be Line 1. Alternatively, you can use Line 2, but you must remember to change your TV's menu input to Line 2 or the microphone will not work. Cables are connected properly, but microphone still does not work. Be sure to slide the switch on the DVD Microphone to ON or ECHO. The Red LED will glow. Then slide the Volume all the way up for louder Mic output as desired. Your DVD is connected to the TV with an SVIDEO cable. You may have to disconnect your SVIDEO cable and use the RCA cables provided. Red light will not glow. Check 9V battery connection or replace if necessary. General Troubleshooting The DVD Microphone is very simple device with easy connections. Basically, the microphone takes your DVD player's audio out and brings it into the microphone. Inside the microphone is a mixer that will mix the singer's voice with whatever audio is coming from the DVD player. The microphone then sends the mixed audio into your TV's audio in port and plays it out the TV's speakers. Although most of our microphones include a yellow RCA cable for the video, it's only a convenience cord for the user. You can use your own existing cord and it would make no difference. We suggest all users having problems to start with their normal DVD to TV connections. Play a movie. Does it work? If not, you have some connection issues you need to resolve first. Assuming your DVD player does play the movie: A) Disconnect the DVD player's AUDIO OUT cable and replace with the DVD Microphone's cables. B) Disconnect the TV's AUDIO IN cables and replace with the DVD Microphone's cables. C) Place the DVD Karaoke disc into the DVD Player and select play D) Turn Microphone on and sing. You should now be seeing lyrics on your TV screen and the music should be mixing with your voice.
955 Karaoke PlayersPlayer will not play karaoke disc Look at the top right-hand knob. Make sure it's switched to CDG. Cannot hear singer's voice Look at the A.V.C. (Auto Voice Cancel). Turn all the way to the left (counterclockwise). The AVC may be cancelling too much voice. 558, 559, 560 Karaoke Players559, 560 - Cannot get enough mic volume. Open tray, press button to get microphone volume control. Press '+' increase button until microphone volume is all the way up. Turn master volume down. Connect microphones to speakers and control volume from there. 560 Owners. Where do I mount the speakers on the stand? The speaker tray is actually the cup holder tray. You may have to tie speakers to the stand or tray to ensure they do not get bumped, fall off and damage speakers. Still having problems? Please write to customer service. |
